Creating engaged employees

Engaged employees enjoy their work more, perform better, and often go the extra mile. This makes organizations much more customer-focused and successful, because enthusiastic employees lead to enthusiastic customers.

Satisfied employees increase customer satisfaction, and satisfied customers are the basis of healthy business operations. Below are a number of tips for increasing employee engagement:

- Managers
Managers now invest much more time in their employees than they did ten years ago. Informal contact between employer and employee promotes the working relationship and working atmosphere within the organization. This makes employees feel more comfortable about raising any issues and expressing their ambitions.

- Responsibility
As an employer, work with your employees to discover the possibilities for changing tasks in such a way that personal responsibility is increased. A greater sense of responsibility increases employee engagement.

- Help employees achieve their goals
Encourage employees to develop themselves and help them achieve their professional or personal goals. Make it clear to your employees that there are training, course, and/or education opportunities within the company.

- Provide feedback
Focusing solely on employee results has a counterproductive effect on employee engagement. Therefore, give them the opportunity to provide regular feedback. Discover together what works well and what can be done differently and better in a future project.

An employee satisfaction survey provides insight into how employees feel about the organization. The survey also offers the opportunity to contribute valuable ideas for improvement that are essential for the further development of the company.
